Matteo Guidicelli finished Cobra Ironman 70.3 Triathlon

Joining the Cobra Ironman 70.3 Triathlon in Cebu, actor Matteo Guidicelli able to finished the race with warmed welcome from girlfriend.

Matteo Guidicelli, 25 year-old Filipino-Italian lad from Cebu, known from his racing career and focused on the sport since his early years. Young actor recently joined the Cobra Ironman 70.3 Triathlon event, participated by thousands of triathletes held in Cebu City, Philippines on Sunday, August 2.

After finishing the line for almost six hours of race, welcomed by hug and kisses from his actress girlfriend Sarah Geronimo . The couple has been almost two years in relationship. Showing her full support to her triathlete boyfriend, Sarah Geronimo flew to Cebu to watch the event in live, on Saturday.

Being passionate to sports, Matteo Guidicelli said reporters, “My passion now is joining triathlons. I have been training and competing a lot. I have been competing everywhere. Hawaii, around here, everywhere! My biggest competition ever was the Ironman Cebu. I love to swim, bike, run — these are my sports.”

Some other Philippine celebrities bring their passion top sports also joined the event. TV host Kim Atienza known as Kuya Kim, competed in the race, Piolo Pascual and Model and actor Victor Basa was also at the event to compete the multiple-stage competition involving completion of three continuous and sequential endurance disciplines.

In its most popular form, triathlon has many variations of the sport. It involves swimming, cycling, and running in immediate succession over various distances. Triathletes compete for fastest overall course completion time, including timed transitions between individual for every variations. For thousands of participants, most of them were not able to finished the line due to some physical problems encountered during the event.

Councilor Dave Tumulak, head of Cebu City’s Command Control Center said, “There are more incidents now compared to last year. This is just based on our area of responsibility in Cebu City from the South Road Properties (SRP) to S. Osmeña (Road). Because it was very hot, some participants had difficulty breathing and others suffered from cramps.”
