Saudi Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal choses to pledge his billion fortune to charity for humanitarian projects over luxury.

The 60 year-old investor and self-made magnate has already donated a total of $3.5 billion to different charitable institutions over 35 years.

“I believe that a person should take dramatic and drastic decisions at his peak,” Alwaleed said, proclaiming himself to be in good shape.

According to Forbes report, Saudi Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal owns a handful of stakes both in private and public companies in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East, with 5% of which is listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange.

he said his charitable commitment would provide even more incentive for his business investments to be profitable.

Alwaleed would have no problem buying the most expensive places in the world, but If he really wanted nice new digs, he could see if Buckingham Palace was up for sale, In fact the Queen’s home, valued at around $5 billion, could be purchased about six times over.

Alwaleed said his charity “will help build bridges to foster cultural understanding, develop communities, empower women, enable youth, provide vital disaster relief and create a more tolerant and accepting world.” IMAGE/ YAHOO
