New single of One Direction hits on top

First single from fifth studio album of phenomenon pop boy band, One Direction, hits on top in just a day.

One Direction also known as 1D, an English-Irish pop band. The group was once a finalist in a British televised singing competition, The X Factor in the year 2010. Previously, the other member, Zayn Malik decided to leave the group, 25 March 2015.

The group released its first single from their fifth studio album, “Drag Me Down”. This is the their first single after the exit of member Zayn Malik in March 2015. The song released worldwide on 31 July 2015 and performed live at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

One Direction member Louis Tomlinson stated, ‘Don’t get me wrong it was a different dynamic at first and I think that’s just another challenge and another adjustment that we’ve had to make,”I think we’ve done that and I think we’ve proved that with this single. We always made a habit of sharing out the vocals anyway so we just said to ourselves we’ve got to make this work and I think we did.’

After Zayn Malik’s departure, One Direction expressed their feeling towards his exit and made first official public appearance as a four piece. The group confirmed to continue without their fifth member, on May 14 at The Late Late Show with James Corden.

In just a day, the new single hits on top as thousands of its digital copies being sold and debuted at the top spot of Spotify’s worldwide streaming chart. The song top in many countries including Canada, France, Malaysia, the Philippines and the United States.

The group One Direction stated as it label’s the song “showcases a more mature One Direction sound.” This new single is the group’s most successful single launch ever. It topped also in iTunes charts in many countries and become trending in social media, Friday.

Their career in singing has been into the pedestal. The group received a lot of awards, one of this was being the biggest winners of the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards winning their three nominations on 6 September 2012, including Best New Artist and so much more.
